Hey there,
I just downloaded the wintin src. I tried compiling it with Vsual Studio .Net but I get a bunch of erros related to the namespace "script engine" and "ReceivedText" . I understand Wintin uses Sharpdevelop core services. Is that why the code will not compile on Microsoft Visual Studio .Net? Do you have any suggesstions? Thanks.

P.S Btw gr8 job on the new Wintin it kicks ass!

I develop on vs.net 2003. If you're using 2003, you'll find a solution file there, which should have all the references set up, but maybe the pathnames need checking.

Yes Wintin does use the SharpDevelop core, but the code for this is included in the download, so it shouldn't give any problems.

Here are some things that might help.

The overall solution file is putty.sln. The name is historical, it's just sort of hung around and I'm not sure whats involved in changing it!

There are several projects, and the solution should build them in the correct order, but if you're having problems it would probably be worth building each project manually in turn, so you can check the references build up ok.

The one external dependency is the magic library. This is in MagicLibrary.dll, which is part of the wintin binary distribution. You can just add a reference to the dll.

Here's the output from a clean build, which shows the order in which the projects get built.

William thanks a lot for your prompt reply. Apparently most of my problems were stemming from the missing reference to the "magicLibrary" dll. Once I added the appropriate refrences to the projects all of them compiled successfully. Thanks once again.

Most likely everyone knows this already, but I had to download the boost libraries from www.boost.org as well. I put them in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Vc7\include.

This is for all those who are as new to the VS IDE as I am. Embarassed
